HighTechU is an initiative of the UVic Department of Computer Science and is a job-skills development program, with the opportunity for participants to walk into a full-time paid internship with a local tech start-up over the summer. Students must participate in the program pilot which runs 9am-4pm on Saturdays from April 7th to May 12th to be eligible to apply for the summer internship program. See Ms. Condie for details and application forms. Application deadline is March 16.
We are asking every student to complete our online TAG Career Survey. This potentially helps us to guide them with course selections and career paths in their future. Many have already completed it (477) but we have almost 1200 students here so lots still need to do it. Please encourage your student to complete the survey online so we don’t have to get them to fill out a paper copy.
The survey link can be found on our website in our “quick links” section on the left side: https://spectrum.sd61.bc.ca/ or click here for the direct survey link
A group of students from around the district got to participate in an Aviation Day with Viking Air.

Have you ever been interested in Aviation as a career pathway? Be one of 14 students from around the district to explore and experience a potential Aviation career pathway. For one day only, Friday, Nov. 24th you can go to Viking Air to take part in a tour and hands on activities.
Please note: this is a Pro-D Day so you won't miss any school but you will be giving up your day off.
This will be a popular event so come get your application immediately from Ms. Condie or Shauna in the CRC.
